New Year, New Challenge

In the next few days I will be revamping my blogs a bit to update them for 2009 challenges. My grocery challenge has been inspired by Erin over at Jane4girls who has just successfully completed 2008 with her shopping budget of $800 for the whole year... with $7.54 to spare! Thanks to Erin I will be trying to see if I can only spend $800 this year on my grocery budget! I really enjoy reading Erin's blog... if you haven't checked it out make sure you stop by now for her great giveaway and to see her start off 2009 with another $800 budget!

Thanks Erin for being such an inspiration to us frugal shoppers!!

Holy Cow!!! I'll have to keep updated on that. I'm willing to try, but with buying meat, I don't see how it's possible. I think I'll allocate $1000 for a year's worth of groceries. It sounds like a good plan, but I'm not quite as stocked up as the rest of you pros yet.

I hear you, meat is expensive. I tend to buy it in bulk a lot and portion it and freeze it if I can. Besides the budgeted $800 I will also try to get creative in earning gift cards to help supplement. I haven't decided whether or not to use my survey earnings too.

How are you all doing it? We have started the grocery game stuff but still seem to be spending $400 a month, so that's $4800 a year :-( Great blog Justine :-)

Its definitely going to be a challenge! I'm not sure I'll make it the whole year but I'm going to try. Its a lot of really smart shopping, and I'm going to do my best!

The game sounds interesting. But I believe if there is will, there is way. So, it is important to prepare a budget and stick to it. It looks like you are going well as well. Congratulations!!!
